Las Vegas Advisor..Is it worth $37

Jun 09, 2013, 8:19 PM

I have just come across the site Las Vegas Advisor and seen you can buy a membership for $37. How does the coupon get delivered to you? Mail or email??? I'm in Australia and leaving in 3 weeks. Has anyone else used this membership/ coupon booklet?

Whether or not it's worth it for you depends entirely on if you think you'll get value from the coupons. If they cover stuff that you're going to be doing anyway then you can't lose and membership is a no brainer. If it means that you'll be changing your plans just for the sake of using the coupons then I would think twice about it but that's a personal opinion as I won't let my vacation plans be dictated by discounts and coupons - I do enough of that at home!

I believe you can pick up the coupons once you're in Vegas if you prefer not to pay for overseas shipping. I don't think they can be delivered electronically but I may be wrong.

Ditto to Blagger's comments. I use the benefits so I have been a member since LVA started.

HECK NO, IT IS NOT WORTH $3.70 LET ALONE $37.00. I bought the online membership after the glowing reviews here on TA. Wish I hadn't listened. I bought it about five months ago. Guess how many coupons I used? NONE. They are nothing I would use EVER. My money spent was a total waste. I won't be getting a subscription again. I'll just stick with my Entertainment Book. Way more useful coupons in that book.

If you use, the 2 for 1 Gospel (Sunday) Brunch at House of Blues/Mandalay Bay Coupon it covers the cost of the membership! If you use a few of the coupons, it is well worth the $37.00 membership. The 2 for 1 BBQ Dinner at Ellis Island is also another popular coupon, as well as the 2 for 1 Golden Nugget Buffet (Downtown). You can pick it up at their office during business hours to save shipping. Good Luck & Enjoy!

BTW~ The American

Casino Guide is another coupon book, well worth it for Las Vegas, if you use one or two coupons, it covers the cost of the book.

Whether or not it's worth it depends completely on what your Vegas plans are and whether the coupons included fit into those plans. Previous posters have provided the links for both LVA and ACG, the two main books out there. The LVA book is very worth it to us because we use at least $35 of free slot play coupons, plus always use the $30 off at the Flame restaurant, so even if that's all we use we save.

The LVA coupon book can be shipped to you (not sure what they'd charge for international; they charge $3.50 for shipping to the states). Or you can pick it up from their offices for no charge.

ACG can be shipped through Amazon.

My advice is to check the links and add up a quick estimate of what you think you'll use, depending on where you're staying and what your plans are.

Thank you so much for all your advice, I do think we would get lots of use from the coupons especially the buffets as that's what my mum likes to use. And Ellis island is on my list.

We are travelling in from Australia and staying at the Flamingo, is thereickup office close to this?? I am wondering if you $6 postage I would chance it arriving in 3 weeks.

I wouldn't chance it mail-wise. Only option would be pick-up locally in Vegas. They are good people.

I think their book was better in the mid-late 2000's and it's started to become a bit lacking in areas I venture to. You can get more than what you paid in value just at the Palms.

"Maybe" have it shipped to your hotel if that is a viable option?

How does one not use any coupons at all from the LVA?? There are plenty of BOGO's and match play coupons to make it worthwhile and the 50% off at the Palms will just about pay for the book itself.

The office is on the other side of the highway just north of the Rio: http://goo.gl/maps/ebSLV

You can take the free Rio shuttle and then walk up, drive over, or take a taxi.
