We are just back from a weekend in NYC for our 45th Anniversary! We stayed at The Pierre on 61st. One of the highlights of the weekend was the stay at The Pierre. We booked through American Express Platinum Travel Service which gave us several benefits and upgrades. The hotel was beautiful and the staff was amazing! From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. At reception Jackie and Aneesha Khalfan were wonderful taking care of all the details for our stay. We got an early check in and a wonderful room upgrade. We experienced their cheerful greetings everyday! On our anniversary Mr Anupam Guha, Guest Relations Manager, surprised us with Champagne and desert. Both were delicious and very much appreciated. The Concierge Christine was very helpful with evening plans and in the dinning room Carmine was very courteous A great hotel with even greater staff

TripAdvisor's mobile app is such an incredible asset for the seasoned and novice traveler! I love that you can save lists of items for a trip (hotels, restaurants, things to do), and can see items on a list or a map (excellent for picking among hotels based on location!). I love being able easily to filter results, too (by price, amenities, type of establishment, etc.). The reviews given for hotels/dining/sites are generally robust (even seeing how courteous or rude replies can be), but not all are quite so good (though those stand out for how poor an assessment it is). While I often use another travel site for booking, TripAdvisor is helpful first for comparing amenities, prices (which may be better than the booking I use most often!), and giving good suggestions.
