I got a call from an Amber Hunt calling from The Law Firm of Crystal Moroney. I didn't answer because it was an 888 number, which is usually a collect call anyways. So, I listened to the message and of course got freaked out because she said it was an attempt to collect an outstanding balance. I called back and the woman was very pushy. She told me the name of a book company, which I haven't used in about a year or two, and an amount that I supposedly owed. She then told me to go to the law firm's website to pay the debt. I told her I would rather contact the book store and pay through their secure website because I was uneasy about paying a law firm of which I had heard nothing about.

How necessary is the cable modem upgrade that Comcast keeps telling me is necessary?

I have to step in and answer this, even though I see several answers already. I have a big issue with this. I do networking for high end smart home systems, and this is something I come across very frequently. My networks are all enterprise grade and provide the fastest speeds possible, so when I install them, I use my own modems and ensure my clients are getting exactly what they pay for. Nonetheless, Comcast will relentlessly call, email, and send letters to my clients, telling them that they need to upgrade their outdated modem which is slowing down their wireless.
