Please refrain from modifying / canceling orders during the last 5 minutes of the market pre-open session (i.e. between 9:55 AM - 10:00 AM) as NASDAQ Dubai might impose penalties if they find such modifications/ cancellations result in affecting the market / other investors.

Trading Cycle (Applicable to DFM & ADX)

  • Once you place an order, it will be placed in the market.
  • Upon execution of the order, you will receive an SMS or email confirmation based on the service you have registered while opening the brokerage account.
  • One of our Call Center Agents will contact you after trading hours to confirm the trades for the day.
  • Settlement for trades takes place on a T+2 basis (where T is Trade Date)
  • The sell transactions executed on T (Trade Date) are settled on T+2 hence, the cash proceeds from the sell will be available for cash withdrawal only on T+2, however the client can use the sell proceeds to place buy orders on same day i.e. T+0

In line with our focus, to provide value added services, we have launched a service wherein you will be able to cash in sale proceeds of shares in DFM and ADX on the trading day (T+0) instead of standard settlement (T+2), up to a certain limit subject to terms and conditions. Types of Orders (Applicable to DFM & ADX)

Limit Orders These are orders wherein the price is specified
Market Orders These are orders where you may place the order without specifying the price and the order gets executed only at the best available price subject to availability of bids / offers to meet the ordered quantity.

Actions on Orders placed (Applicable to DFM & ADX)

Order Modification After placing an order, you may change the buy or sell order in the market, as long as the order is not executed or partially executed. You can change the quantity and price, but will not be able to change the symbol (company name) or the

type of order (buy/sell).

Order Cancellation You can cancel an existing order that is placed if it is not executed at the time of cancellation. In addition, you can cancel the remaining unexecuted shares from a partially executed order.

Note to clients who were holding a NASDAQ Dubai account with Emirates NBD Securities prior to 11th July 2010: As of 11th July 2010, NASDAQ Dubai consolidated its key market operations with DFM. Consequently, all investors have to fulfill the requirement of a holding an investor number with DFM in order to trade in NASDAQ Dubai. Therefore, if you already have a National Investor Number (NIN) issued by DFM, you may visit any of the Emirates NBD Securities branches to open a brokerage account in NASDAQ Dubai. In case you do not have a NIN in DFM, you are required to complete the documentation requirements for the same. For documentation requirements, please click here

Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX)

Saudi Stock Exchange (TADAWUL)

  • Trading Days: 10:00AM to 3:00PM KSA Time / 11:00AM - 4:00PM UAE Time (Sunday to Thursday)

Details about Trading Session

  • Pre-trading Session- the Pre-trading session to start at 9:30 AM until 10:00 AM The pre-trading session is where buy and sell orders are either entered, modified (quantity or price) or cancelled. However, during this session, orders are neither matched nor executed but it will remain held in the order book.
  • Trading Session - The trading session to start at 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM The trading session is where all functions in the preceding state are allowed in addition to matching and executing orders.
  • Post Trading Session - The Post-trading session to start at 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM The post-trading session is where orders entered during the trading session can either be canceled or expiry date be changed. Other changes to price or quantities are not allowed. In addition, no new orders are allowed during this session.

Information related to POA

  • For identification purpose, the investor should satisfy the queries raised by the broker, before placing orders through telephone and / or when called over at the broker counters.
  • To place orders at the broker counters, the investor or the authorized Power of Attorney holder (POA) should be present in person. Emirates NBD Securities will recognize POAs only those have been registered with Emirates NBD Securities based on the notarized POA.
  • The client must ensure that his portfolio is updated in the brokerage account in case of share transfer, prior to trading.

Information related to Share Investment Account

  • There are no charges for opening a Share Investment Account (SIA) with Emirates NBD or a brokerage account with Emirates NBD Securities.
  • There is no minimum balance required for opening the Share Investment Account (SIA). However, sufficient funds should be available in the account for placing buy orders
